Privacy and Security
At
QTS, we understand that confidentiality is most important. QTS is
committed to safeguarding the security of all confidential information
handled in the course of the transcription and editing process.
Associates who work with QTS are required to sign a Confidentiality
Agreement affirming their commitment to protect the confidentiality of
all information. In addition, associates are monitored to ensure confidentiality requirement are met.
Your
documents as well as your personal information will always remain
private. QTS will not sell or disclose your mailing address, email
address, or any other information collected from our business
transactions.
Security Measures
Here are a few of the measures QTS has in place to protect the confidentiality and accessibility of confidential information:
- 128-bit SSL encryption technology for transmission of files
- Dedicated communication lines for more secure transmissions
- Security
measures to ensure that our corporate office and all of our
transcription centers are protected from unauthorized individuals
(i.e., secure network requiring user ID/password to gain access, double
firewall protection, and anti-virus software)
- Restricting who can access information by utilizing user IDs and passwords; and changing passwords regularly
- Requiring
associates and vendors to sign confidentiality agreements and providing
associates with ongoing training on privacy and security issues
- Measures
to provide secure workstations (i.e., passwords to log-on, anti-virus
software, all transcriptionists are required to run Windows 2000,
Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system on their computers)
- A comprehensive data back up and storage plan

Our Security Policy
- Strict Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreements bind all associates of QTS
- Entry of unauthorized persons in our building premises is strictly prohibited
- Access to our facility is controlled by key and code entry
- Adequate security measures are present to guard the property
- Each personnel has his/her own password
- Access to a given computer/workstation is also restricted

HIPAA/Confidentiality
Training Course: Each new associate undergoes confidentiality training,
as required by HIPAA, for handling protected health information (PHI)
as well as the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality of all

On-going HIPAA/Confidentiality Training
As
new developments in the law arise, QTS outlines policies which reflect
those new developments. These policies are sent to all associates with
an acknowledgement form indicating that the associate has read and
understood the new policy and will abide by the new policy.
